LOROS is to benefit from a new affinity savings account launched by Hinckley and Rugby Building Society, which aims to benefit the local hospice movement in both Leicestershire and Warwickshire.

Hinckley and Rugby's Hospice Affinity Savings Account pays an attractive rate of interest to investors and, each year, 1% of the average balances held in the account will be donated to LOROS and the neighbouring hospices covering Nuneaton, Rugby and Coventry. Each hospice will receive an equal share of the 1% donation.

The account further builds on the strong relationship Hinckley and Rugby already enjoys with the three local hospices, which includes sponsorship of fundraising events and support for LOROS through donations based on voting at the Society's AGM. Last year, the Society handed over a cheque for more than £2,000 raised in this way and hopes to better that total after this year's AGM in March.

The account offers easy access to savings with a minimum investment of £500 and a maximum investment of £300,000.

The Society is proud of its links with the local hospices and believes the launch of the affinity account is an excellent way of reinforcing its support.

Marketing Manager Stewart Heeley said: "Hinckley and Rugby recognises that LOROS, in common with every other hospice, faces a massive challenge each year to raise the funds it needs to provide such vital support to the terminally ill and their relatives.

"We hope that existing members of the Society, as well as new customers, will consider opening an affinity savings account as a way of not only earning an attractive rate of interest on their savings but also benefiting such a worthy cause."
