Home Visiting
Visitors are available to spend time with patients in their own homes. This allows carers to use this time as they wish knowing that the patient has someone with them. Visitors will also spend time with patients who live alone to offer support and company.
Visitors are available routinely: Monday - Friday, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm for sessions of up to four hours and will visit regularly each week if required. Visits during the evenings and weekends are available for special occasions.
After the first visit a member of the Family Support Service Staff will telephone to check that the patient is happy to continue with the visits if required. LOROS tries to send the same visitor each time but if for any reason he/she is unable to visit we shall endeavour to offer a replacement.
Bereavement Visiting
Trained visitors are able to offer practical and emotional support to carers and relatives of LOROS' patients at the time of their bereavement. Visitors are available for short sessions for a period of up to twelve weeks: Monday - Friday, 9.00 am - 5.00 pm. The visitors work within guidelines which include the need for confidentiality.
For more information on these services, please contact the Family Support Manager, who will be available to discuss matters further and who will be happy carry out a home visit to explain the service.
